Our Story
In 1946, Herbert M. Rosenfeld began working for Leo Feder and Sons food brokerage. Herb identified the importance of developing strong relationships with vendors and distributors alike. He understood, as a broker, that he is the bond between the principal and distributor, and his sole concern is to represent both parties.
Joe began working with a food distributor on Long Island, NY in 1972. Starting as a truck driver, Joe was driven to succeed, and progress within the company. When upper management saw his commitment to the company, Joe was promoted to other roles such as sales, purchasing, and eventually became the VP.
In 1998, Joe Gigante partnered with Herb, bringing a different style and approach to the business, while upholding Herb's values. As a food distributor, Joe learned the integral aspects of supply chain management, and how a strong salesforce committed to end-user marketing exponentially grows product lines. This style of marketing has proven to be such a major success, that some of our vendors have adopted the technique in other regions.
